My greatest desire for Beyond the Trial is for someone to read this book and derive strength to overcome their challenges.

Recently, I got feedback about the book that thrilled me beyond words. A young single mother who had given up on life and marriage read the book and was encouraged to pick up the pieces of her life. She has a business now and has had the courage to move on

Such stories give me fulfilment.

I have a strong belief in God and that influences everything I do.

Despite the fact that the three major characters in the book Beyond the Trial are female, I do not write for women exclusively. In Shadows from the Past (Ada’s story), Jude her brother suffered greatly from their abuse as children and it affected his marriage as an adult. The lesson in Erased Reproach transcends the teenage girl who gets pregnant ‘accidentally,’ it also speaks volumes to young boys to wait till they are ready for family responsibility before intimate relationships. The character Frank in Erased Reproach is an example of forgiveness, loyalty and maturity. A clear message in Rude Awakening is for the heads of families to plan for the unexpected by writing wills that can guarantee some measure of comfort for their families. It is also a plea that rather than victimize widows, family members and the community should give them maximum support.

There are huge lessons in Beyond the Trial for both genders.

Thanks for having me here today, Lola. It is a pleasure to be hosted by you.

I wrote the short stories in Beyond the Trial to outline some of the challenges life throws at us. I wanted the stories to inspire people because there is so much negativity in the news today. So I can say that I started off hoping to encourage as many people as possible facing similar circumstances.

I have come across several people going through similar trials and their different attitudes often determine the effect the trials have on their outlook on life. A negative outlook can lead to psychological problems in the long term. I believe that while we cannot choose our trials, challenges and battles in life, we can choose our reaction to them. I wrote Beyond the Trial to inspire, encourage and challenge readers of the book to rise above their circumstances and soar!
